If you’re visiting between late November and early January, you might be lucky enough to see the famous lupin flowers in full bloom around Lake Tekapo. The vibrant purple, pink, and blue flowers create a stunning contrast against the turquoise lake and surrounding mountains,  making this one of the most photogenic spots in New Zealand.

Important: Lupins are seasonal and don’t bloom year-round, so check timing before planning your photos.
