The lakeside promenade in Lucerne is one of the easiest and prettiest walks in Switzerland.

It starts right in front of the Lucerne train station, crosses the main bridge, then follows the edge of Lake Lucerne for about 40 minutes all the way to Lido Park. Along the way you’ll have beautiful views toward Mount Pilatus, tree-lined paths, benches, small parks, a playground, and plenty of snack stops.

Because the path runs parallel to the bus line, you can easily hop on a bus back to town if little legs get tired. At the far end, you can also catch transport from Luzern Verkehrshaus.

Highlights along the way:

  • Seebad Luzern (lake swimming + rooftop café)

  • Lido Park (large grassy lakefront space)

  • Strandbad Lido Luzern (family swimming area with shallow water, playground, café – entrance fee)

  • Swiss Transport Museum right across the road

It’s flat, stroller-friendly, and perfect for an arrival day, slow morning, or low-effort afternoon outdoors. Simple, scenic, and easy to adjust to your energy level.
