The Via Casino Archway is one of Catalina Island’s most charming architectural details—a pastel-toned Moorish-style gateway that leads toward the iconic Casino building in Avalon. It’s a picture-perfect spot that frames the harbor and the Catalina Casino in a way that feels straight out of a vintage postcard. I love how the arch catches the warm tones during golden hour; the stucco glows, shadows fall softly, and the view beyond the archway feels almost cinematic.
Come in the late afternoon or early evening for the best light. I recommend standing just behind the archway to photograph through it ant its windows, using it as a natural frame. This is easily one of Avalon’s most elegant photo spots to frame the harbor scenery. It makes a great stop as part of a walk along the palm-lined Casino Way.
