Scenic Hotel Punakaiki is a little slice of paradise on New Zealand’s wild West Coast. The West Coast makes you feel a million miles from the rest of the world in the best way possible. The hotel is tucked right between the Tasman Sea and lush rainforest, the perfect place to slow down, soak in Aotearoa's beauty and disconnect from the chaos of everyday life.
There's plenty to do when you stay here, too! In the winter, curl up by the fire in the lounge with your favourite book and enjoy a delish meal at the on-site restaurant. In the summer, go out and explore the incredible landscapes of Paparoa National Park, home to the famous Pancake Rocks and Blowholes (although these are good all year round!).
How to get there
The West Coast is best explored on a self-drive trip, and you’ll need a car to stay at Scenic Hotel Punakaiki. It’s about a 45-minute drive north of Greymouth or 1 hour 20 minutes south of Westport along State Highway 6. This stretch of road is one of the most stunning drives in the country, and if you’re heading this way, make sure to allow extra time in your day for lots of road trip stops.
