The Bern Cathedral of St. Vincent is a fun way to take in some impressive late-Gothic architecture. The cathedral towers above the roofs of the old town, and is the largest religious building in Switzerland. The Basilica does not have a transept, however there is the main portal depicting the Last Judgment, which was spared by the iconoclasm of the Reformation.
For the BEST views of Bern city, you can climb up the 344 steps to the church tower (P.S. this is the highest in the whole of Switzerland!) for stunning views of the city and its surrounding mountains. This lookout point offers a top-down view that is sure to be an spell-binding experience!
