Dynjandi Waterfall, also known as Fjallfoss, is a majestic waterfall in the remote Westfjords of Iceland. Cascading some 100 meters like a beautiful bridal veil, it's truly the Jewel of the Westfjords. With six smaller waterfalls along the way, a short hike leads to this breathtaking natural wonder. The thunderous sound of Dynjandi and its vibrant red iron-rich soil make it a must-see destination for nature lovers and history buffs alike.

Location: Dynjandi is situated in the remote Westfjords region of Iceland, near the town of Þingeyri. It is part of the Dynjandisá River, which flows into the Arnarfjörður fjord.

Accessibility: To reach Dynjandi, you typically drive on Route 60 (also known as Vestfjarðarvegur) from Ísafjörður, the largest town in the Westfjords. The waterfall is located approximately 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) off Route 60 on a gravel road. The drive includes a hike from the parking lot to the base of the waterfall, which takes about 15-20 minutes.

Facilities: Facilities at Dynjandi are limited. There is a parking area and basic amenities.

Best Time to Visit: Dynjandi is accessible year-round.

Safety Considerations: The trails around Dynjandi can be slippery, especially after rainfall.
