Dettifoss is one of Iceland's most powerful and impressive waterfalls, located in the northeastern part of the country.

Location: Dettifoss is located in northeast Iceland.

Accessibility: The waterfall is accessible from the east and the west side. The road to the west side is paved and easily accessible by any car. The east side is accessible via a narrow dirt road, and it is open usually from the end of May to the beginning of September.

Parking:

• On the west side, there is a big parking that can accommodate a large number of visitors

• On the east side, the parking is smaller and there is space only for 25-30 cars

Best Time to Visit: During the summer months. The waterfall is pretty popular and if you want to avoid being crowded you should visit in the morning or in the late afternoon.
