The Tirohanga Picnic Area is beautiful little rest area that is perfect if you are travelling to or from Nugget Point Lighthouse to stop for a bite to eat or a walk along the beach. The view of Nugget Point Lighthouse from here is also very unique and different from the more popular photos you see of the lighthouse.

We stopped here in our campervan after shooting sunrise to have our breakfast and marvel at the amazing waves and mist that was around the area. I loved the view of the lighthouse from this angle. You will need your zoom lens for this shot of the lighthouse and to take photos of the surf if there is any.
