The Janie Seddon Shipwreck is an iconic landmark located in Motueka, New Zealand. This rusting hull was once a submarine mining vessel that fired the first shot of WW2 and served in both world wars. After being stripped of anything of use and laid up on the Motueka Wharf, she sunk at her moorings and now rests peacefully as a tourist attraction.

For photography it is a great location for sunrise and astrophotography. When the tide in full there are beautiful reflections of the ship to be had with the surrounding mountains in the background completing the frame. Have your wide angle lens ready for this location and enjoy the unique view.
