This is Avlona, Karpathos's northernmost and most remote village.
As you can imagine, this is as quiet as it gets. Avlona sits on a basin which is believed to be the island's most fertile basin. Indeed, if you happen to be there around April or May, you will see crops and flowers in full bloom. You will definitely stumble upon some homegrown aubergines and artichokes.

Once in there, I definitely recommend eating at taverna Avlona, where Mrs Anna cooks for you like if you were at grandma's. When I was there (early Sep), we asked for a salad and we were treated with the most amazing salad. All the ingredients were picked from her garden and you can see on the picture how many different ones there are, as well as how fresh they look.
And yes, when we asked for salt, she gave us a little container filled with fresh sea salt!
