Piazza San Marco in Venice is one of the most impressive public squares in the world. Located in Venic, Italy, it is famously known as St. Mark's Square and serves as the city's political, religious, and social center. The beautiful square is dominated by St. Mark's Basilica, a western facade with intricate carvings, Romanesque carvings around the central doorway, and four grand horses which serve as symbols of power. To the left of the church are the Procuratie Vecchie, while to the right stands the majestic Clocktower. The Piazzetta di San Marco is located near the lagoon, connected to the Piazza through an arcade, and shows off two large granite columns with symbols of the city's patron saints.
