We absolutely love Max Chocolatier, perhaps our very favorite chocolate in Switzerland! This small company based on Lucerne makes small batches with inventive seasonal flavors that change four times a year. They usually have two vegan pralines, which are super delicious - no compromises on flavor.

They have a lovely boutique on the edge of the Lucerne old town, definitely worth a stop on any walking tour. We always stop in to try a new flavors, a special treat since one praline can cost about CHF 2-3, but so worth it if you have a gourmet palette.

They also have beautiful gift boxes, a more unique gift to take home than Lindt, which you can buy anywhere. We also like their hot chocolate pod, where you pour hot milk over it and stir. 

If you live in Switzerland, you can order their fantastic chocolate advent box, which usually sells out by end of October.

We've also enjoyed their chocolate tasting & workshops, which includes a tour of their tiny chocolate production facility. It's more geared to adults that love seeing the inner workings of a small specialty producer.
