Early mornings offer easier parking, quieter trails, and softer lighting for photography—plus a better chance of spotting wildlife. Many iconic locations fill up by mid-morning in peak season, so hitting the road at sunrise not only helps you beat the rush but also gives you a more peaceful and rewarding experience in the parks.

When we travel in the Rockies, we try and make sure we're on the road by 8 am if possible!
