Skógafoss is one of Iceland's most iconic waterfalls, located in the southern part of the country. With a stunning drop of about 60 meters, it creates a breathtaking sight as water cascades down into a wide pool below.
There are two different viewpoints for this famous waterfall. You can walk up the stairs to see it from the top, and there is also the bottom view. The upper lookout has about 400 stairs, it's a bit of a workout.
The view below Skogafoss is absolutely beautiful and pretty humbling. We got lucky and basically had it to ourselves. We recommend doing sunrise or sunset if you want it to be less busy. Most tours stop coming here after 4pm!
