Uncover the history of Arrowtown & find out how old Chinese settlers came here to pan for gold (there are still remains of the small huts the settlers used to live in). For $5 why not grab a pan from the local shops & head out to the river to try your luck. Just a short 20-minute drive from Queenstown is where you will find this little town & you can quite easily get there whether your taking the bus, driving or even on a tour.
