The Puerto Baquerizo Moreno's Malecón is a great spot to take in the picturesque surroundings and incredible wildlife the Galapagos Islands have to offer. Visitors can expect to find 1000 sea lions honking away at each other while also spotting iguanas, sea turtles, crabs, pelicans, and various species of finches. There are plenty of restaurants, stores, and gift shops close by.

The San Cristobal Interpretation Center is a unique experience that provides visitors with a rich history of the Galapagos islands. The tour offers an overview of the volcanic origin of the islands and their special climate and also covers topics such as human exploration and colonization, conservation efforts, and the current reality of the archipelago. Visitors can explore the interactive installations in the Nature History Room, Human History Room and Outdoor Theater or watch documentaries on the Galapagos ecosystem in the Screening Room. This museum is sure to provide an immersive educational experience for all ages. You can come here on your way to Cerro Tijeretas, and Muelle Tijeretas or if you're a fan of hikes to Playa Baquerizo Beach.

Cerro Tijeretas, or Frigate Bird Hill, is the perfect place for a free and independent activity on Isla San Cristobal in the Galapagos Islands. The hike takes one to an outlook point with breathtaking views of Darwin’s Cove and out to sea. With proper footwear, one could proceed further up and finish at Playa Baquerizo. There is great potential for wildlife spotting as frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, turtles, sea lions and iguanas have been seen here. Alternatively, take the right fork on your way back from Cerro Tijeretas and visit Punta Carola Beach.

Playa Baquerizo is an amazing beach located next to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. It boasts beautiful white sand, crystal clear waters and plenty of wildlife. The best way to reach this stunning destination is by hiking along a 2 km path over lava boulders. Adventurers should be sure to wear good shoes and bring plenty of water on their journey.
