Lago di Braies is one of those places which you definitely cannot skip in Dolomites. It is a beautiful alpine lake with dark blue color surround but imposing mountains. Recently it became very well known mostly due to Instagram. Once there we recommend renting a boat! It is such a romantic experience. Paddling around the lake with mountain all around you.

RENTING A BOAT This is the most popular activity at Lago di Braies. The cost should be 18€ for 1/2 hour and 28€ for the whole hour.

PARKING AT LAGO DI BRAIES This part is a bit harder in the summer months. Between July and September you must reserve your parking spot online in advance HERE. The valley is accesible by car only before 09:30 or after 16:00. During these times you can only reach it by public transport, on foot or on a bike.

Outside the summer months you can visit the lake at any time. You do not need to book parking in advance and the price is 6€ per 3 hours with a maximum of 12€ per day.

Where to stay: Staying near the lake might be more complicated than you think. Many hotels are sold out month in advance and they often require minimum 3 nights stay. In our opinion the hotels near the lake are extremely overpriced. Therefore we recommend staying a few km away. We listed some of the best hotels in area (sorted by prices low to high).
