The Speyside Cooperage Visitor Centre is a cool spot in North East Scotland where visitors can dive into the fascinating world of whisky cask-making.
I always recommend this place to visitors, especially if they are keen on the whisky making process. The cooperage, locally is a big employer and you can witness the real skill involved in making the barrels.
Located right in the heart of Speyside, it’s all about celebrating the craftsmanship that goes into creating those iconic barrels that age some of the finest whiskies. Guests can take guided tours to see skilled coopers at work, shaping and assembling casks by hand.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place for both whisky enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Plus, there’s a shop where you can pick up some unique souvenirs and maybe even a bottle or two to take home.
Please note, the guided tours must be pre-booked and because of the nature of the industry, children are not permitted.
