Get ready for a quintessential North Cascades adventure to the Hidden Lake Lookout, a historic fire lookout perched atop a rocky summit. The challenging 8-to-9-mile round-trip hike rewards you with absolutely breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks. You'll start in a forest, climb through wildflower meadows, and traverse rocky slopes before a final scramble to the top. The drive to the trailhead is rough and requires a high-clearance vehicle, but the payoff is one of the most spectacular vistas in Washington. If you don't have high clearance, you can still make it, but you will have to hike an extra 7 km and 600 vertical meters. Recommended to visit early/mid July to late September.
You can spend a night in an old fire look out, which definitely worth the hustle. The only thing is, that it's First Come First Serve spot, so you can not reserve it, but you have to be there first.
