Peruvian food is incredible, but be smart about where you eat. Street food can be safe if it’s hot and freshly made, but opt for busy stalls with a fast turnover. Stick to bottled or filtered water, and avoid ice in rural areas unless you know it’s safe. Consider bringing water purification tablets or a SteriPen if heading off-grid.
Try classics like ceviche, lomo saltado, and cuy (guinea pig) if you're adventurous—but ease in slowly if you have a sensitive stomach.
