My all-time favourite and seriously jaw-dropping lookout in the Flinders. I honestly can't put into words just how stunning it is - you’ve really got to experience it for yourself. If there’s one thing to take away from this, it’s to make the effort to get here before sunrise. As the sun rises and casts that morning light across the ridgeline and backdrop of the Heysen Range, the whole scene is just unreal.
A little tip - factor in your drive time, especially early morning. Wildlife like roos and emus are super active around that time and we had to slow down and even stop a few times which meant we missed the actual sunrise. You can access the lookout with a 2WD, it’s a gravel road but totally doable with some slow and careful driving. Just make sure to check road conditions before you go, especially if there’s been rain - the creek crossings can get a bit tricky.
