Grocery Shopping As A Vegan In Iceland
A great way to save $$$ on food on your trip!

Iceland
When people think of Iceland, they don't normally think of it as place that is vegan friendly. Though I was pleasantly surprised on my trip that not only are there many vegan options at restaurants, especially in Reykjavik. But the grocery stores themselves had vegan options when it came to products outside of just pantry staples and produce and many were clearly marked as vegan.
It's pretty known that Iceland is expensive and especially when you eat out. A great way to save on your trip is by shopping at grocery stores and preparing your own meals and buying snacks.
If you want to shop and make your own meals and get some snacks, here's some grocery stores I recommend:
Bónus - One of the largest supermarket chains in Reykjavik, they're the cheapest and most popular chains in Iceland.
Nettó - They have a diverse selection of both local and international products, including fresh produce, specialty items, and a good range of vegan and gluten-free options.
Krónan - A discount grocery chain in Iceland known for affordable and healthy options, including fresh produce, organic products, and a wide selection of food and household items. This store is where you'll find some of the best vegan products.
