Little Tribune Bay – Hornby Island

  • One of the most referenced unofficial clothing-optional beaches on the Island.

  • Best accessed where the shoreline curves out of general sight.

  • Locals choose Little Tribune over “Big” Tribune for privacy.

Tips: Privacy depends on crowd size and tide. Be aware of hikers on adjacent paths.

Brown’s River - Comox Valley

  • A river and estuary area locals sometimes use for discreet swimming and clothes-optional use.

  • To access from the falls. Walk down the river for five minutes. There is a small rectangular pool, and past the boulders are nice rocks to relax on and get a full body tan

  • Best at low flow, mid-week, or early morning when fewer people are around.

Prior Lake (Greater Victoria / Thetis Lake Area)

  • Some sections around Prior Lake have been informally used for clothing-optional recreation.

  • Especially the quieter shoreline pockets, not the main crowded swimming areas.

Tips: Stay tucked away from main paths and public viewing areas — always use caution.

Witty’s Lagoon (Sooke)

  • Not traditionally a clothing-optional destination, but very quiet in winter and shoulder seasons.

  • Some locals choose less visible sandstone outcrops or shoreline coves where public access is less obvious.

  • Strong ocean currents and rough shorelines mean you must always be mindful of the tide and safety.

Tips: Consider this very unofficial and practice respectful social norms.

Nanaimo River Access (at Pink Rock Gate / Nanaimo River Road)

  • Informal river swimming areas with very secluded river bends near Nanaimo, known colloquially as “Pink Rock Gate.” It's the busiest spot. Turn left at the river and walk a short distance.

  • Some visitors choose discreet sunbathing or nude swimming spots away from the main access point.

Tips: Visibility varies significantly. Respect private property, avoid main accesses, and always swim with a buddy for safety.

Naturist Etiquette & Safety — Vancouver Island

No official designation — These spots are known locally, not legally recognized clothing-optional areas.
Privacy first — Choose areas not visible from public paths or roads.
Respect others — Not everyone around you will expect clothing-optional use.
Pack in / pack out — Especially beach and river spots.
Safety first — Check tides, currents, and river access conditions.

Sol Sante Club — Victoria, BC (Naturist Social Club)

Sol Sante Club is an organized naturist social club in the Victoria area that provides an inclusive, private, and respectful environment for naturists to gather, socialize, and host events. Unlike unofficial beach or river spots, Sol Sante offers structured activities, community, and a safe space for people who prefer or identify with naturism in a social setting.

What Sol Sante Club Offers

  • Private Social Events: Gatherings, meetups, and themed social nights in a controlled, respectful atmosphere.

  • Workshops & Talks: Health, wellness, and social education sessions.

  • Community Support: A welcoming group for local naturists and visitors alike.

  • Respectful, Consensual Environment: All activities are structured around consent, comfort, and mutual respect.

Why It’s Different from Unofficial Spots

  • Private property/membership or guest access: Ensures privacy and legal clarity.

  • Organized groups / social culture: Great if you want a community rather than just a secluded spot.

  • Seasonal & event listings: Most clubs have calendars and event signup requirements.

Note: Active membership, schedules, and event info change — always check the club’s official site or social channels for up-to-date details.
