Tugela Falls, located in South Africa's Royal Natal National Park, is the world's tallest waterfall, with a free-falling total drop of 983 meters (3,225 feet). With five distinct tiers plummeting over 2,972 meters (9,751 feet) above sea level, this impressive natural wonder is sure to take your breath away. Visitors can marvel at the spectacular sight from the main road into the park or by taking one of the two trails: a 4.5 to 8 hour round trip hike to the top of the Drakensberg escarpment or an easy 7km (4.3mi) gradient up the Tugela Gorge. For the adventurous and daring, a climb over two chain ladders leads to the summit of Mont-Aux-Sources. Whether exploring from the top or the bottom, Tugela Falls provides a unique and spectacular experience.
