Đường Bùi Viện, located in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, is a popular nightlife street known for its vibrant atmosphere and numerous bars and street-side beer joints offering affordable drinks and tourist services. Starting from Tran Hung Dao Street and intersecting with De Tham and Do Quang Dau Streets, it ends at Cong Quynh Street. The area, also known as the "Backpacker District," has a rich history, with the street originally named Bao Ho Thoai before being renamed Bui Vien in 1955. In 2017, the city transformed Bui Vien into a pedestrian street, enhancing the sidewalks, roadways, lighting, and drainage systems. The pedestrian street officially opened on August 20, 2017, becoming the second pedestrian street in Ho Chi Minh City after Nguyen Hue Street.
