Скътана сред двора на Президентството, Министерския съвет и хотел „Балкан“, Ротондата „Св. Георги“ е истинско съкровище на София. Тя е една от най-старите сгради в София и в нея са се съхранявали временно тленните останки на Св. Иван Рилски и на княз Александър I Батенберг. Или пък, че е била част от двореца на император Константин Велики. Построена през IV век от римляните, това е най-старата запазена сграда в столицата и един от малкото оцелели свидетели на античния град Сердика.

Вътре ще откриете уникални стенописи от различни епохи – най-ранните датират от IX–X век и са запазени и до днес, въпреки бурната история на храма. През вековете ротондата е била църква, по-късно джамия, а след Освобождението отново християнски храм.

Днес тя е действаща църква и спокойно място, където историята и духовността се преплитат.

Hidden away in the courtyard of the Presidency, the Council of Ministers, and the Balkan Hotel, the Rotunda of St. George is a real treasure of Sofia. It is one of the oldest buildings in Sofia and temporarily housed the mortal remains of St. Ivan Rilski and Prince Alexander I Battenberg. Built in the 4th century by the Romans, it is the oldest preserved building in the capital and one of the few surviving witnesses of the ancient city of Serdica. Inside, you will find unique frescoes from different eras—the earliest dating back to the 9th–10th centuries and preserved to this day, despite the temple's turbulent history.
