What to expect:
We didn’t take this boat tour personally, but we spoke with several travelers who did and wanted to share their experience for full transparency:
On the positive side, everyone agreed on one thing: the boat ride itself is beautiful and very peaceful, passing through lush green nature and two small caves, which was a highlight. Many were impressed by the women rowing the boats - often rowing with their feet for the full 90 minutes, always smiling, kind, and incredibly strong. It’s hard work, and tipping is common here.
However, there are some downsides worth knowing before you go. Upon arrival, travelers described the sales approach as quite aggressive. Prices were unclear: an initial offer of 50,000 VND quickly turned into around 300,000 VND after negotiation. At the turning point of the tour, the rower presents souvenirs (starting around 100,000 VND).
At the end of the tour, guests were again very strongly encouraged to give a tip, which made some people uncomfortable.
Final takeaway:
A calm and scenic boat tour with lovely nature and caves - but intransparent pricing, strong selling tactics, and pressure around tipping can take away from the experience. Go prepared, set boundaries politely, and decide in advance what you’re comfortable paying.
