This is one of my favourite weekday lunch spots near Shinagawa Station when I want something a little more refined without paying typical dinner prices. It is only a few minutes from the Takanawa Exit, so it is very easy to reach.
The restaurant is spacious by Tokyo standards, with a calm and elegant atmosphere. Most guests are Japanese, and you will rarely see many tourists here. An English menu is available, and international visitors are welcome, but I recommend keeping your voice low and respecting the quiet atmosphere around you.
The weekday lunch menu offers excellent value. Coffee and tea were included, and the staff refilled my rice and miso soup. Some lunch sets include seasonal small dishes, freshly cooked rice, miso soup and pickles, making the meal feel much more special than an ordinary quick lunch.
This is a great place to experience a more polished side of everyday Japanese dining - delicious food, a comfortable setting and surprisingly good value at lunchtime.
