To reach Miradouro dos Balcões, you’ll embark on a short, accessible trail of 1.5 km, known as Vereda dos Balcões, which starts at Ribeiro Frio. This path follows the Levada da Serra do Faial and winds through dense woods. For birdwatching enthusiasts, this spot is a paradise, where you might interact with some bird species, including the endemic Madeiran chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs madeirensis).

To get there by bus, you can take the number 56 or 103  buses from the station near the cable car in Funchal.
