Saguaro Lake is a small canyon reservoir ringed with saguaros where most people come to boat, fish and explore quiet coves. The marina rents boats, kayaks and jet skis and has a tiny store and restrooms, but services and cell coverage are limited, so bring water, ice, shade, sunscreen and a phone battery pack. Fishing for bass, catfish and sunfish is common, so carry an Arizona fishing license and check current limits. Summers get brutally hot and storms can build fast, so plan early-morning or late-afternoon outings, wear life jackets and treat swimming as unguarded; weekends fill the launch ramps and parking, so arrive early if you want space. Areas near the lake sometimes bloom during spring with wildflowers.
