Kasteel Doorwerth is a castle located in the village Doorwerth in the east. It's one of the 7 castles you can visit in the province Gelderland, which are all different and unique. The rich history of the castle spans more than seven centuries, and has seen both glorious and less pleasant times.

Nowadays, Doorwerth Castle shines in all its 17th century glory, and includes a gatehouse, coach house and stables. You could almost imagine the well-managed vegetable garden still supplying the castle’s kitchens with vegetables and flowers.

Inside, you can marvel at the richly decorated period rooms, and imagine what it was like to live in the castle. In the armour room, children can try on a chainmail suit. This castle is surrounded by a moat and is open to the public for tours and events. It is a popular tourist attraction, surrounded by nature with several walking-and cycling routes and known for its beautiful gardens with a lovely restaurant as well.

It is advised to book entrance ticket in advance if you want to visit the inside too. The outside is free to visit.
