Fairytale Canyon is one of the most iconic and visually striking natural wonders in Kyrgyzstan. With its wave-like red rock formations, it's become a favorite for both locals and travelers.
Unfortunately, during my stay in Tosor, the weather didn’t cooperate—relentless rain made it impossible for me to visit. The photo above is not mine but is included for reference and to give you a sense of the canyon’s dramatic beauty.
How do I get here?- The canyon is located just outside the village of Tosor on the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul.
On Foot: If you're staying in Tosor, you can walk to the entrance in about 30 minutes.
By Car: Self-driving is a great option, though the last section to the canyon is a dirt road. Parking is available near the entrance.
By Marshrutka: Public minibuses frequently pass along the main road. Let the driver know you're getting off at “Skazka Canyon”, and be prepared to walk the remaining 2 km.
Entry Fee: ~50 SOM per person (cash only)
