We stayed at Casa Garza Hostal and thought it was such a great budget-friendly option in Mérida. It has a relaxed, social vibe without feeling noisy, and the whole place feels clean, colourful and welcoming. The courtyard and common areas make it really easy to meet other travellers, but you can also just chill if you’re feeling low-key.

Prices are usually around 300 to 700 MXN per night, depending on whether you’re in a dorm or private room, which is amazing value for the location. Our tip would be to grab a spot in the courtyard in the morning or evening, as that’s when the atmosphere really comes alive. If you’re looking for somewhere affordable, friendly and well located, this is an easy place to recommend in Mérida.
