Beautiful Cathedral in Heart of Town

When you visit Guadalajara Cathedral in the historic center, expect a striking pair of neo-Gothic towers and a calm interior that’s free to enter most of the day, but plan around mass times when parts may be closed and you should stay quiet. Go early to avoid crowds and the midday heat, carry a small donation if you can, and bring a camera since photography is usually allowed as long as you’re discreet during services. There are occasional bag checks and pickpockets in the surrounding plaza, so keep valuables secure, and if you want to climb the tower expect many stairs, a small fee, and limited access. Combine your visit with a stroll through Plaza de Armas and nearby museums and eateries to make the most of the area.
