Santa Teresa instantly stole our hearts. This small surf town on Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula has a chilled-out, boho vibe, perfect for couples looking to mix adventure with beach relaxation. The sunsets, surf, and laid-back energy make it hard to leave.
Things We Loved in Santa Teresa:
Surfing & Beaches – Playa Santa Teresa and Playa Carmen are perfect for all levels. We rented boards and spent hours catching waves and just soaking up the sun.
Sunset Views – Watching the sun dip over the Pacific from the beach or a cliffside café was pure magic.
Local Eats & Cafés – We loved grabbing fresh seafood, smoothie bowls, and coffee at small local spots tucked around town.
Nearby Adventures – ATVing through jungle trails, visiting waterfalls, and exploring Mal País added a touch of adventure to our days.
Chill Vibes & Yoga – Santa Teresa is full of yoga studios and wellness spots. Mornings doing a beach yoga session or just relaxing in a hammock were some of our favourite moments.
Best Hotel:
Pranamar Villas & Yoga Retreat – Staying here was incredible. Right on the beach with stunning ocean views, hammocks, and a serene vibe, it was the perfect mix of comfort and tropical paradise.
