If you’re in Santa Ana, you shouldn’t miss the Cathedral of Santa Ana. It’s right in the heart of the city and really impressive - one of those places that makes you stop and look up. The architecture is beautiful, with Gothic-style details, tall spires, and colourful stained glass windows that catch the light just right.
Visiting is easy - it’s right by the main plaza, so you can combine it with a walk around the town centre. Inside, it feels peaceful and spacious, and you can take a few minutes to admire the artwork, the altar, and the vaulted ceilings. It’s also a working church, so you’ll get a sense of how important it is to the local community. We'd recommend joining on to Hector's walking tour to get a better understanding of the history of the Church and country.
We really enjoyed just sitting for a bit on the benches and soaking in the atmosphere (and watching the kids trying to catch the pigeons!). Even if you’re not big on churches, it’s worth a stop for the history, the architecture, and the chance to feel the heartbeat of Santa Ana.
