Walking through La Calle de las Sombrillas felt like stepping into a postcard. This famous street is lined with hundreds of colourful umbrellas hanging overhead, creating the prettiest pop of colour as you wander through. It’s one of those spots where you can’t help but stop every few steps for photos.
WE COULD NOT STOP TAKING PHOTOS HERE, this is an epic location and perfect to walk the rest of the beautiful streets and end up at the mirror at the end to see the whole lake
What we loved is that it’s right in the heart of San Juan, so it’s super easy to stumble across while exploring. There are little cafés, shops and art stalls along the way, and the whole street has a really happy, lively vibe, especially when the sun hits the umbrellas just right.
It doesn’t take long to walk through, but it’s definitely worth it. Come mid-morning or later in the afternoon for golden hour, and pair it with a wander around the Street of the Arts nearby for a perfect little San Juan stroll.
