We stayed at Saranda Hotel Boutique in Puerto Viejo and it was such a unique place. The rooms are these cool cylinder-shaped spaces that feel super cozy and thoughtfully designed. It’s one of those stays that feels a bit different in the best way, and we loved how comfortable and quiet it was after busy travel days.
One of the best parts was waking up to free breakfast each morning, then heading straight out to explore. The hotel is right near an epic black sand beach, which felt wild and dramatic compared to the usual tropical beaches. It’s perfect for early morning walks or sunset hangs when the light hits the sand just right.
Prices usually sit around 120–200 USD per night, depending on the season and room type. If you’re after a boutique stay with a unique design, great breakfast, and easy access to a seriously cool beach, Saranda is a really special spot to base yourself.
