If you want to really understand Bolivia’s culture, the National Museum of Ethnography and Folklore is such a great place to visit. The museum is beautifully set in a historic colonial building and gives an in-depth look at the country’s Indigenous traditions, textiles, music, and festivals.

We loved wandering through the exhibits and learning about the stories behind traditional clothing, masks, and rituals — especially the ones linked to famous celebrations like Carnival. It’s informative without feeling boring, and you come away with a much deeper appreciation of Bolivia’s history and diversity.

Entry is very affordable, usually around 20 BOB, and you can easily spend 1–2 hours exploring. If you’re in La Paz and want a meaningful, cultural experience, this museum is definitely worth adding to your list.
