You’ll find the Queen Emma Bridge in Willemstad, Curaçao, a pedestrian floating pontoon that links Punda and Otrobanda and is free to cross. It opens regularly for ship traffic, so be ready to stop and watch it swing open for impressive photos, and expect crowds when cruise ships are in port. Wear sensible shoes because the wooden planks can be uneven and keep an eye on small children, but note the route is generally accessible with ramps. If you want fewer people, go early or later in the evening, and stay after dark when the bridge and waterfront are nicely lit and lined with cafes.
