When you visit Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City, plan it as a hilltop museum visit: the Castillo houses the Museo Nacional de Historia and is typically open Tuesday through Sunday, around 9:00 to 17:00, so check current hours and buy tickets in advance for busy weekends; Sundays are free for Mexican residents. Expect security checks, some bag restrictions, and no flash photography in certain rooms. Wear comfortable shoes because there are stairs and uphill paths and accessibility is limited, or take a short taxi or the nearby metro to avoid the climb. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours to see the main rooms and take in the city views, bring water, and keep valuables secure since the park can get crowded. Lots of good photo opportunity around the grounds make sure to look outside as well!
