Acuario Island is one of the must-do spots when you’re in San Andrés. It’s a tiny sandbank surrounded by insanely clear, shallow turquoise water, and it honestly feels like you’re walking around in a giant natural pool. The water is so clear you can see fish swimming around your feet the whole time.

We loved how easy and fun it was — you can snorkel straight from the shore, float around, or just chill in the water with a drink. There are a few small stands selling fresh seafood, coconuts, and cold beers, which makes it the perfect place to spend a few relaxed hours soaking it all in.

Boats run regularly from San Andrés and usually cost around 10–15 USD return. Try to go early in the morning before it gets busy. If you’re in San Andrés and want crystal-clear water, easy snorkelling, and a proper island vibe, Acuario Island is a must.
