We stayed at Masaya Hostel in Minca and honestly, it was one of the coolest jungle stays ever. Nestled in the lush mountains of the Sierra Nevada, the hostel has a super relaxed, tropical vibe with hammocks, jungle views, and friendly staff. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after exploring the area and really feel like you’re deep in the jungle.
The property is full of little hidden corners to chill, and there’s a great communal area where you can meet other travelers, grab a coffee, or plan your hikes. One thing to note is that it’s a bit far out of town — you’ll need a moto taxi for about 30 minutes up a mountain, which can feel a bit sketchy if you’re not used to it. Because of that, you’ll probably end up eating at the hostel restaurant, which is convenient but can be a little annoying since options are limited.
Dorms start at around 10–15 USD per night, and private rooms go for 30–50 USD, which is amazing for a jungle getaway with such an epic location. If you’re heading to Minca and want a relaxed, social jungle hostel with incredible views and easy access to hikes, Masaya Hostel is still a great pick — just be ready for that moto ride!
