Playa Mangos is such a chill spot on Ometepe — part restaurant, part kayak rental, and right on the lake, so you can just relax and enjoy the views. We loved that you could grab a bite, sip a drink, and then hop in a kayak to explore the calm waters around the island.

The food is simple but really tasty — think fresh grilled fish, tacos, and cold drinks — perfect after a morning paddling or just sitting in the sun. Renting a kayak is super easy, and paddling out on the lake with Volcán Concepción in the background makes it feel like you’re in a postcard.

Prices are really reasonable — kayak rentals around 5–10 USD per hour and meals usually 8–12 USD, so it’s easy to spend a few hours there without worrying about money. If you’re on Ometepe and want a relaxed lake day with food, drinks, and a bit of adventure, Playa Mangos is a perfect stop.
