Mirador Kaqasiiwaan was one of those places that completely stopped us in our tracks. The views over Lake Atitlán are next level, with the lake stretching out below you and volcanoes rising up all around. It feels peaceful and raw, like you’re standing on top of the world with nothing but nature in front of you.
We weren't sure if we were going to do this, but are so glad we did this was absolutely epic, with incredible views but also the colourful ground mural made it so magical! Quite cheap to walk up as well with even food and drinks option at the top.
Getting there is part of the experience. It’s a bit of a hike and definitely works up a sweat, but honestly, that just makes the view even sweeter once you arrive. There are a few different lookout points, so you can wander around, take photos, or just sit and take it all in. Sunrise and sunset would be unreal here if you time it right.
What we really loved is that it still feels pretty quiet compared to some other viewpoints around Atitlán. No crowds, no noise, just fresh air and insane scenery. If you’re up for a bit of walking and want one of the best panoramic views in the area, Mirador Kaqasiiwaan is absolutely worth the effort.
