We stayed at La Casa del Mundo and honestly, the views are absolutely incredible. Our room was small, but the property itself more than makes up for it. You can wander around the gardens, find a quiet nook to read, or just relax on one of the little benches tucked away around the property — it’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and soak it all in.
Our favourite part of the stay was waking up in the morning, heading down near the lake, and swimming until lunch time. The lake is stunning, calm, and perfect for just floating, splashing, or watching the sunrise over the volcanoes — it felt like our own little slice of heaven.
Rooms usually cost around 150–250 USD per night depending on the season. Getting there is easy — most people take a short boat ride from Panajachel or San Pedro, or you can drive and park nearby, then walk into the property. Just a heads up, the on-site restaurant wasn’t great, so we’d recommend walking into town for a much better and cheaper meal, which is only about a 10–15 minute walk. Even with a small room and the meh restaurant, the views, property, and lake access make La Casa del Mundo an unforgettable stay at Lake Atitlán.
