If you’re exploring the Galápagos Islands, Santa Fe Island is an unforgettable destination for nature and wildlife lovers. This small, tranquil island is known for its stunning landscapes, turquoise waters, and unique species - it was one of the best place to visit if you want to snorkel with sea lions.

We loved walking along the island’s trails, spotting land iguanas, sea lions, and a variety of birds, all while taking in the dramatic cliffs and cactus-filled landscapes. Snorkeling in the clear waters revealed colorful fish, sea lions and rays, making it a full day of adventure both on land and in the sea.

We visited on our 6 day cruise but you could also visit on a day trip from Santa Cruz island. If you’re in the Galápagos and want a peaceful, wildlife-rich escape with incredible scenery and snorkeling opportunities, Santa Fe Island is definitely worth the visit.
