If you’re on Isabela Island in the Galápagos and love snorkeling, Concha de la Perla is a must-visit. This beautiful, protected cove is a free spot where you can swim among colorful fish, rays, iguanas reef sharks, sea lions, penguins and even sea turtles — perfect for a relaxed, self-guided snorkeling adventure.

We hired a snorkel from in town (for two days) so we could explore at different times of the day. We went early in the morning and at sunset to see what different animals we could see there - we ended up spotting (several) sea lions, penguins, pelicans, marine iguanas, and so many colourful fish!

Since it’s completely free, it’s an easy, budget-friendly way to experience incredible snorkeling on Isabela Island. If you’re on the Galápagos and want a peaceful, wildlife-filled spot to snorkel right off the shore and at your own pace, Concha de la Perla is definitely worth a visit.
