Renaissance Island is a tiny private island owned by the Renaissance Aruba Resort and is best known for its shallow, photogenic Flamingo Beach. To visit you typically need to be a resort guest to use the complimentary short boat shuttle; non-guests can sometimes gain access with a paid day pass, spa booking or a restaurant reservation, you MUST book in advance before you go. Arrive early to avoid crowds and get your photos, and pack reef-safe sunscreen, water, a hat, and a light cover since shade and facilities are limited. Respect the flamingos by keeping your distance and never feeding or chasing them, and bring a snorkel and water shoes if you want to explore the rocky edges because swimming beyond the shallow sandbar is limited.
