Red Frog Beach was one of those spots that instantly felt like a proper tropical paradise. The sand is soft and golden, the water is bright blue, and the whole place feels wild and untouched, with jungle right behind the beach. It’s lively but still laid-back, and you can easily spend hours just swimming, sunbaking, and soaking it all in.
We loved hanging out near the water, watching the waves roll in, and grabbing a drink from one of the small beach bars nearby. It’s also a great place to walk along the shore and explore a bit, especially if you like a mix of beach time and nature. The name comes from the tiny red frogs(but are toxic) that live in the area, so keep an eye out if you wander into the jungle paths.
There’s no entry fee to access the beach, but you’ll need to get there by boat taxi, which usually costs around 5–10 USD each way, depending on where you’re coming from. If you’re in Bocas del Toro and want a classic, postcard-perfect beach day, Red Frog Beach is an absolute must.
